The History

This was once the home of archaeologist Kyriakos Pittakis—an early member of the Filiki Eteria and passionate about ancient history.

In 1822, his archaeological excavations uncovered the once-hidden “Clepsydra of the Acropolis”, a natural spring whose waters would overflow and disappear within the rock, resembling an hourglass turning over.

LΙYSTOR

Our name is inspired by this remarkable discovery.

Analyzing the etymology of the word, its literal meaning is the thief of water.

Thus, LIYSTOR was born—a symbol of the flowing nature of time, or the grains of sand slipping through the hourglass, bridging past and future through a sensory journey.
